About this blog

Thanks for visiting my blog.

I serve as one of the ministers of the Hoover Church of Christ just outside Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve got a wonderful wife, four awesome kids, and a truly blessed life.

In July 2011 our church family began to get more serious about spiritual growth. I’m sure you hear a lot about spiritual growth, but I sensed that many of our members were fed up with the status quo. They really wanted a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, one that shaped them and pleased God.

I began preaching a series of sermons on the Spiritual Disciplines, and I accompanied the series with daily challenges to our members in the form of email devotionals centered around whatever topic we were studying at the time. They seemed to be well-received, so I decided to publish them here.

So that’s where this blog comes in. I’m posting my daily meditations on this site, which I also send out via email. I also plan to post random thoughts on ministry, family, spirituality, writing, productivity, and other things that interest me.

I hope you’ll check back often. I’ll add content frequently, and I’d love to hear any reflections you have.

Join us on our quest to become truly conversational with God . . . a faith that goes beyond filling a church pew and checking boxes off a religious to-do list.

Come back soon.

In Christ,

Chuck Webster

This is just great Chuck. Thanks for all the work you put into your posts. For me your devotionals have become such an important part of the start of every day that I really miss them if you take a day off. With the blog now I can go back and re-read the old ones.

So thankful for you and your family and what you mean to the Lord’s cause here.
